GAISF defines sport as any competitive activity that involves physical exertion and skill, organised under a formal structure with an objective measurement of performance, which may be corrected by “handicaps” or other measures. The activities that are most frequently regarded as sports include a wide range of team and individual events, such as association football, athletics, cycling, tennis, boxing, swimming, gymnastics, wrestling, and equestrian sport.
Sports can have many benefits to an individual, such as promoting good physical health, increasing confidence and self-esteem, and enhancing social relations. In addition, it can be an excellent way to relieve stress and tension. In order to keep one’s body healthy and strong, sports should be done regularly.
